Why_

The purposes of this web site are:

To give a representative sampling of the geographical diversity of chess activity around the world.
To highlight the best and most useful international chess sites.
To help promote scholastic chess.
To improve awareness of the achievements of the members of the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame.

Please if you are aware of a high quality chess site that will further these purposes.

We do not attempt to list all the world's chess sites. We receive many requests that we build a link from this site to others. We are always glad to consider such requests, but it is not possible for us to fulfill them all.

What People Are Saying

Writing in the Washington Post, one of the world's most respected players, GM Lubomir Kavalek, noted that Chesslinks Worldwide is "one of the best chess sites available" and observes that:

"The future for chess on the Internet looks great. One only hopes that Jerry Lawson will continue to sift through many pages and provide a quality access to netsurfers on chess."

David Sands in the Washington Times has recognized Chesslinks Worldwide as "an easy to use and fantastically complete guide" and concluded "For those of you still holding back from entering the computer age, Chesslinks Worldwide provides a wonderful excuse to get with the program."

Typical of comments left by the thousands of visitors Chesslinks Worldwide receives every month are these remarks from a representative of the U.S. Chess Trust, Steve Doyle: "Cruising the web I found your site. Excellent! Thank you on behalf of the US Chess Trust for doing such an excellent job."
